Greetings friends. Today finds yours truly busy searching the blogosphere high and low. For what you ask? Summer! It seems that somewhere between “how would you like your burger” and “last one in the pool is a rotten egg” the days have disappeared in a mouse click.
Now the calendar says Thanksgiving. Don’t get me wrong. Turkey and trimmings suits me to a T-square. But time moves faster than a fiber optic ISP on steroids. So as you prepare to go “over the river and through the wood” remember what’s really special about the season. The friends and family you’ll savor each drumstick, yam, and slice of pumpkin pie with.
Recent tragedy in Paris, and elsewhere, reminds us that tomorrow is not guaranteed. So this year, give an extra hug. Listen to Grandpa’s stories as if you’ve never heard them before. And make sure everyone you love, knows that you love them. Even if it feels like you just said so. These days, too, will pass in a heartbeat. But if we do it right, the memories we’ll create during them will linger forever. Happy Thanksgiving everybody. We’ll talk again soon.
